Historian Jared Frederick will be presenting his book, Dispatches of D-Day: A People’s History of the Normandy Invasion on June 14, 2022, at the Ohio County Public Library. Using 1944 newspaper accounts and letters as its foundation, Frederick’s book takes a fresh look at the events and emotions of the invasion, providing moving portraits of the soldiers and civilians who experienced what General Dwight D. Eisenhower called “the great crusade.” Frederick will be signing copies of his book after his talk.
In addition to being in-person in the Library auditorium, this program will be available to watch live on Facebook Live, on YouTube, and on the OCPL website's LWB Livestream page.
