Bloomsday Movie Screening of The Dead

Join us for our second annual "Bloomsday," a celebration of all things James Joyce.

Our focus this year will be on Joyce's view of women as reflected in his various female characters. 

As part of the festivities, we will read Joyce's collection of short stories, "Dubliners" and, at 10:30 AM as our first event, screen the film based on the longest of them.

"The Dead," stars Angelica Houston as Gretta Conroy, a female Joycean character who will be featured in our noon discussion with Professor Lisa Weihman, Associate Professor of 20th Century British and Irish Literature with a specialization in Irish Studies in the Department of English at WVU.
