Spring Seed Swap

We are excited to announce our Spring Seed Swap event! We would like to invite you to join us on March 5th in our auditorium from 6-7:30 pm as we swap seeds, raffle off some garden-related prizes, and celebrate the upcoming planting season together!

We will be joined by members of GrowOV, a local food-growth and distribution group working to build a sustainable local food system in Wheeling, members of WVU Extention's Master Gardeners, and volunteers from the Ohio County Solid Waste Authority. These groups will be available to answer gardening questions and get you excited to work in your own garden throughout the spring season and the year!

The admission fee to partake in this event is one seed packet donation and we recommend bringing several seed packets to swap with other gardeners! Please provide seed information written on each seed portion, including common name, variety, year and location of harvest, seed-saving technique, pollination information, and any other pertinent notes you may have. Donated seeds must be from open-pollinated, non-genetically modified, non-hybrid, and/or heirloom plants, and must not be listed as an invasive species by the WV Division of Natural Resources.

*Bulbs and live plants may be swapped between patrons but cannot be donated to the library!
