NEW THEMED KIDS BOOK BAGS:

We recently announced the availability to check out themed book bags for kids. Well, guess what? Now we have even more themes available. And, just like before, if you don't see a theme that suits your child, we can create custom themed bags for you.  Click here to view this video to learn more about our new themed bags

If you'd like to reserve for your kids or would like to request a custom bag, just call the Library at 304-232-0244 and let us know what kind of books you'd like to reserve for your kids. When the book bags are ready to be picked up, we'll call you and arrange a time for you to pick up the bag and any other items you'd like to check out from the Library.

Like anything you see above?

If you see something you'd like to reserve for curbside pick-up, call us at 304-232-0244 during our adjusted hours (10 am to 3 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and 10 am to 7 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays), or log into your account on our online catalog and reserve materials over the internet.

Once the Library staff has completed an online or telephone reserve request, a staff member will call you to schedule an appointment for curbside pickup.

And remember, if you don't see something you'd like to check out, you can always call us and make a request for a title we don't have or get suggestions for new books from our reference staff.

SUMMER READING 2020 - "READING TAKES YOU PLACES"

Have You Joined Our Summer Reading Challenge?

It's still not too late - and it's easy! Download a 2020 OCPL Summer Reading booklet for full details.

Each minute you read between now and August 15th will count as one mile. We'll be keeping track of countries visited in books and miles (in minutes) read through an online platform.

ReadSquared

READSquared is a new software the Library will be using to track our Summer Reading participation for all ages. Sign up online at ohiocountylibrary.readsquared.com or download the READsquared app at the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

We've been traveling in books for our 2020 OCPL Summer Reading Challenge: Reading Takes You Places here at the Library. We've made literary visits to Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica, and beyond (check out our weekly recommended reading lists on our blog page). Last week, both the Children's Department and our Adult Programming Department visited South America. This week, as Summer Reading 2020 winds down, we're heading exploring to North America in the Children's Department and this Thursday at 6:30 pm our Summer Reading Program for adults will conclude with a virtual Geography Bee hosted by Dr. David Javersak (broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook). Win gift certificates to local restaurants by answering questions about the countries we've visited this summer - no registration required!
